This guide features galleries from some of our favorite public squares and Forsyth Park spots—places our couples choose again and again for their ceremony backdrops. You’ll also find links to private venues and quieter, tucked-away squares so you get the full picture.

Permitting: Savannah’s public squares and Forsyth Park are often free to use for smaller elopements, but permits are required in certain situations and for larger guest counts. For detailed information on who needs a permit and how we manage the process, jump down to the permitting info.
Not every Savannah ceremony location requires a permit, but it’s important to know the rules before your big day:
For elopements under 20 guests, permits aren’t automatically included in the Savannah Elopement Package—but you can easily add one when you book, and our team will handle everything. For Savannah Micro-Wedding Packages (21–40 guests), permits are automatically included in your package.
