Permitting: Savannah’s public squares and Forsyth Park are often free to use for smaller elopements, but permits are required in certain situations and for larger guest counts. For detailed information on who needs a permit and how we manage the process, jump down to the permitting info.

- Elopements under 20 guests with no chairs or rentals don’t require a permit. (One exception: right by the Forsyth Park Fountain. We always require a permit for that spot due to heavy foot traffic, regardless of guest count. But, you can get married at the "Grass by the Fountain" spot without a permit.)
- If you want to ensure you get to use your favorite ceremony spot, we encourage getting a permit for peace of mind and no last minute location changes, regardless of guest count.
- Micro-Weddings (21–40 guests): A permit is required for any public location, and it’s automatically included in the Savannah Micro-Wedding Package.
- Rentals or Decor: If you’re renting chairs or other décor, the rental companies require a permit for setup and delivery, regardless of guest count.
- Private venues are not included in the Savannah Elopement Package and are booked directly by couples.

For elopements under 20 guests, permits aren’t automatically included in the Savannah Elopement Package—but you can easily add one when you book, and our team will handle everything. For Savannah Micro-Wedding Packages (21–40 guests), permits are automatically included in your package.
